In Germany, almost 70% of all adolescents are treated orthodontically, which is an extreme international peak. It is discussed how the German orthodontists contribute. Also internationally striking are the excessive treatment durations that are customary in Germany, which is also discussed on the basis of studies. It proves to be a massive over- and misuse in German <u>orthodontics<\/u>.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.madsen.de\/en\/lexikon\/orthodontics\/\" target=\"_self\" title=\"In most languages, this is the normal word used to describe the field of orhodontics, although in Germany during the 1930&rsquo;s, it was replaced by the term &ldquo;Dento-facial Orthopaedics&rdquo;.
