The Use of Removable Braces

Removable braces are made in the laboratory and are put in by the orthodontist who then makes sure that they fit perfectly and that they are positioned correctly. Usually, some small adjustments are necessary. Once this has been done, the functional elements of the brace can be activated. These may be screws or small springs made out of thin wire that can then be adjusted by the orthodontist in such a way that they put pressure on those teeth which need to be moved. How to put them in and out, how long they should be worn for and how to take care of them is all explained to the patient. Finally, a further appointment is made so that the brace can be checked.
